work from home

In this economy people are desperately looking for opportunities to earn extra income. Many have turned to work at home jobs because they have lost their regular job. What ever your motive is, legitimate work at home jobs are not hard to find. I have worked for different wah (work at home) companies like Liveops, Languageline and Alpine Access. These companies pay decent hourly rates. They provide the convenience of saving on gasoline, lunch and clothes. However many of us moms who wish to work from home struggle with the schedules. Many of the wah jobs require weekend work hours. This can be a problem if you have small children. Believe me because I have worked at home on the phone on Saturdays and the kids get bored and hungry very quickly. So the weekend work is something you really want to consider before you go that route. Another downside to Working from home is many companies hire you as a contractors instead of employee. I have done both. If you become an employee do not expect the same benefits you would get as an employee at a regular non virtual company. The main benefit of this is the company discounts, 401 k, utility reimbursement and taxes taken out of your paycheck. When you are a contractor you are responsible for paying your own taxes.
Now it might look like I am focusing on the negative but I'm not. I am just trying to provide the information you won't find on the company`s website. People sometimes don't know what to expect and hopefully this will shine some like on the subject.
